The Prestonian

Thank you brothers for the confidence you have shown in me by electing Rail-Roading me to the post of Junior Cavalier for the upcoming year.  It should prove to be a great one.

For those who don't know:

“The Prestonian” is a table lodge which meets bi-monthly at the Scottish Rite Center in Tacoma.  Table Lodges have a long history in Masonry going back to the 19th Century.  This lodge has its own code and ritual, and meets for these purposes:

1.     To engage in Masonic Education
2.     To engage in civilized debate upon Masonic subjects
3.     To enjoy the fellowship of the festive board
4.     To toast, with appropriate ceremony and beverage, worthy institutions, worthy causes, and worthy Brethren
5.     To enjoy all other benefits which accrue to men who are Freemasons

Ladies are welcomed and first-time guests are hosted for the repast.  “The Prestonian” has had very interesting speakers in the past, including ladies who are affiliated with Masonic related organizations.

If you would like to know more about The Prestonian, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Masonic Law and Customs

Masonic law and customs differ from that of other societies.  While it is an old resource, and of course subordinate to a jurisdiction's own specific codes, The Principals of Masonic Law by Albert G. Mackey is a tremendous resource.

Monday, March 24

Please join us for Centralia Lodge's next dinner and stated meeting:

Monday, March 24
6:30pm
Centralia Masonic Temple
218 North Pearl Street, Centralia WA 98531

Melinda will be cooking us a great dinner (this is good, you don't want to eat my cooking) and serving it in the 2nd floor formal dining room.

We'll open lodge on the EA Degree and then go quickly off session so that the ladies in attendance can join us. (If the work in the East is too bad, feel free to throw rotten fruit.)

WB Baxter will be providing an educational program about the internment of people of Japanese descent during World War Two.

We will be balloting on a petition for affiliation.

We need to discuss and determine the best use for a donation the lodge has received.

I will appoint a committee to organize our upcoming Past Grand Master's Night.

We will close hearing from our District Deputy to the Grand Master as it will be his Official Visit.

Ladies are welcome to dinner and WB Baxter's presentation, I hope to see everyone there!

That's the upcoming in Centralia, what's happening in your corner of the Masonic world?
